out of the dark and into the light

Hey man, how's that book going?
Having trouble finding a publisher. They all want 500k.
You oughta get me to do that book for you. It is really a craft project, you know?
OK, how much?
Whoa. I was just kidding. It would take about a grand just to study the deal, locate suppliers, and stuff. It's a lot of work.
When the check came three days later, I started to work. It took about six months to get the first books ready. We sold over 500 in a few months. We kept getting more printed and bound. It was a handsome hardback book, the kind you expect to see in libraries. We did it from scratch.
When I moved back down South, it shook up my whole production system. Time went by and yet I finally figured out a way to make more books. This book is incredible. I haven't heard of a more honest writing about recovery from the disease of addiction in first person. It awakened waves of compassion in me. It was hard to read and hard to put down. The photos are most striking.
